BREW EXPRESS
|
Brew
Express offers homeowners an in-wall coffee system—a new
solution to the typical, overcrowded countertop. The
innovative approach to coffee is featured in The Idea
House 2005 at 21
Cossatot Circle in Cabot.
The
Idea House’s in-wall coffee system is not found in it’s
likely place in the kitchen, but rather at the men’s
vanity in the master suite. "You’re feet hit the
floor in the morning, and you want your coffee," said
Nina Butler, the decorator for The Idea House. The Idea
House’s coffee pot is just a few feet away from the
master suite’s bed, convenient for early-morning java.

With
traditional coffee makers, there can be as much water on
the counter
top as is in the machine, but the Brew Express in-wall
system eliminates the need to add water. Water can be
plumbed directly into the coffee maker via two options.
First, water can be plumbed from the sink or refrigerator,
depending on where the coffee maker is located. Secondly,
by utilizing a pump and a dispenser bottle, like the ones
on water coolers, water can be plumbed into the coffee
maker.
The
coffee maker self-fills with water on command; the
thirsty, half-awake homeowner simply adds the ground
coffee beans. |
|
But
Brew Express has gone a step further, adding a
programmable timer that let’s the user decide what time
the coffee maker should begin brewing automatically. If
the homeowner added the coffee and set the timer the night
before, they could wake up with Folgers already in their
cup.
The
Brew Express features three quantity selections to control
the amount of coffee that is brewed; they are: cup, half
pot, and full pot.
The
Brew Express system includes a pause-and-brew
feature. If the carafe is removed while
the system is brewing, the coffee maker will stop pouring
coffee. For safety reasons, if the coffee pot has not been
replaced within five minutes, the system shuts off. |

The
Brew Express stainless steel carafe keeps coffee fresh and
warm for hours. The carafe, which is insulated, will not
burn desktops or countertops.
The
stainless steel carafe eliminates the need for a plate
warmer to keep the coffee hot. The coffee pot rests on a
cool, stainless steel pad in the plate warmer’s place.
Since the bottom of the coffee pot does not receive direct
heat from a plate warmer, the Brew Express system does not
burn coffee.
The
in-wall coffee system, also features two additional
electrical outlets, meaning that instead of taking one
plug-in away, the Brew Express gives the homeowner two
more.
